Hi guys~!
It's been a long time since I last posted at my blog.
I was busy kinda with all my assignments and did not have time to write~
Moreover, it's even worse now because I'm approaching the end of my semester.
All those final projects are flooding me!
Anyway, I gonna show you guys one of my assignment that I did in class.
My concept for the poster was basically about two opposing force,
The good and the evil.
Moreover, I got my inspiration from the movie posters of "The Last Samurai".
I gonna show all of you my WIP and my finals for the poster.
Originally, the poster started with a plain background. I cropped out the characters and then placed them side by side and then edited the ninja at the back. Furthermore, I added some shadows to the character. Other than that, I also placed the logo and the movie title on top of the characters.
WIP 1:
After that, I changed the colour of the background, movie title and added the actor's name on the top and a date on the bottom.
WIP 2:
The character expression just didn't match the feel that I wanted for my poster. My friends also laughed when they saw the guy posing in front with the sword. So, I thought I should add a mask and a hat to cover the head. It worked and I got the feeling that I wanted. Other than that, I also added some blood splatter using brushes.
WIP 3:
It came out like how I expected it to be. Soon, I added the credit lines too so it'll look real, just like any other movie posters.
WIP 4:
I showed it to my lecture but she said my background were plain and asked me to add something to it. I did what I was told to. I found a nice background and added it into the image.
WIP 5:
Next up, I adjusted the curve for the background and added more shadows. After that, I edited the sky by adding clouds and adding some highlights. I even added flames to the building and made use of the burn and dodge tool so that it will look more realistic.
Finally, I changed the font for the movie title and added more names into the credit line.
This is how the completed version of the poster looks like:
I wanna take this opportunity to thank "mjranum" and "#resurgere" from deviantart for providing me the stock images for this assignment.
