My assignment given by my lecturer was to create a story for kids below 12 years old and needs a moral value in it. This is what I wrote:
Elly's Best Friend, Larry
There was a boy named Elly. He was a smart and energetic young boy. At times, he wondered why his parents gave him a girly name. "Dad, why do my name sound so girly?" asked Elly. "Because I thought you were a girl name Elly." replied Dad. Elly's dad loves to do weird stuff. As an example, barbecuing in the toilet. Dad says that the smells of the toilet makes food taste nicer. On the other hand, Elly had a best friend named Larry. Larry, was big a fat boy who was obsessed with hamburgers. He looked like an imitation of a small hot air balloon with one tiny exception - he can't fly!
One day, Elly and Larry saw a wallet by the roadside when they were walking home from school. Larry picked it up. They searched the wallet for an identity card of the owner. They found out the owner of the wallet was actually Ms.Cannibal who lived next to Elly. Do not be deceived by the name guys! Mrs.Cannibal is actually a very nice person, or I think she is. Therefore, Elly decided to return the wallet to Mrs.Cannibal. He asked Larry pass him the wallet so he could return it but Larry rejected. Instead, Larry was planning big treat for himself. Hamburgers!
Larry headed straight to his favorite hamburger restaurant, the "Burger Monster". As soon he reached Burger Monster, he ordered his favorite hamburgers. In a single order, he ordered more than 10 hamburgers. His mouth opened as wide as Elly bedroom door and then devoured all the hamburgers in a single gulp. There were a lot of people looking at Larry when he was eating his hamburgers. Some of them were surprised but most of them were grossed-out by the way Larry ate."This is wrong Larry!" said Elly. Elly tried to stop Larry from eating but he got furious. "Don't disturb Larry, Larry angry!" said Larry angrily. Larry ordered the hamburgers again and again. At last, Larry was only satisfied when wallet went out of cash. Elly panicked when the wallet went out of cash because Larry had already spent more than 500 bucks on those hamburgers and 500 bucks was a lot. The situation became worst when those money was Mrs.Cannibal's. "What are we gonna do? How are we gonna pay back Mrs.Cannibal's 500 bucks Larry?" asked Elly agitatedly. Larry ignored Elly because he was already too lazy to think about anything else after he had eaten so many hamburgers.
Finally, It was time to go home. Larry's stomach was swollen and could not even walk. Suddenly, it started to ache. "Pain! pain! Ouch!" yelled Larry. Elly immediately went to look for help. Sadly, not even a single soul wants to lend a helping hand because they were too grossed-out by the way Larry ate. Coincidently, Elly saw his neighbor, Mrs.Cannibal who walked into the restaurant for some hamburgers too. Elly rushed to Mrs.Cannibal and ask for her help. Mrs.Cannibal called for an ambulance right away. Awhile later, the ambulance arrived. Larry was sent to the hospital for medical attention. The doctor said Larry ate too much at one go. Furthermore, his stomach could not handle the amount of food taken. Therefore, Larry needs to go on an operation to take out the excess food in his stomach. Larry was very scared because he do not want an operation, but it was unevitable. Larry was then hospitalized for a week.
A week had passed, Larry was finally released from the hospital. He visited Elly the following day. "Sorry Elly, I got into trouble because of not listening to you at the first place. I've learnt my lesson and I won't do that again. I promise." said Larry. "We are best friends right? I'm glad that you're fine." replied Elly. After that, Elly brought Larry to Mrs.Cannibal's house. Larry returned Mrs.Cannibal's wallet and apologized to her. Larry was lucky because Mrs.Cannibal did not get angry at him. Few days later, Larry gain back his appetite. Larry and Elly went to Burger Monster again. "10 hamburgers please!" Larry ordered. "LARRY!" yelled Elly."Opps! Sorry!" apologized Larry.
